Overview
An event can be set up to run an external program at the time
the event is scheduled to start.
To enable a program to run, check the "Run a program"
box in the list of available actions on the
Event Editor window.
This will allow the run program options to be viewed or
modified as described below.

Executable
- Type the full path and location of the program, or use the "..." button to browse for it.
- Note that the program doesn't need to necessarily be an
executable. You could type the URL of a web page, and the
page would be displayed in your default internet browser
when the event starts. This could be an alternative to
displaying a web page in the
popup reminder window, which embeds the web page in the reminder
window.
Parameters
- You can also specify parameters to pass to the program.
- For example, if you'd like a certain file to be opened by a program, specify the file path and name as a parameter.
- The parameters are dependent on the program being executed, so consult its documentation to learn what parameter
values can be passed.
Preview
- If you'd like to preview the program execution, click
the Preview button. This will attempt to launch the
executable.
- You can use the Preview button to test that the program
will correctly execute when the event starting time is
reached.
