Follow up option

I would find it useful to have a follow up option when a task or event is completed.

Say I have an medical appointment, once attended I am given the next appointment.

It would be nice to just follow up, this would complete current event and make a new one with the same entries and same links but new date & time.

possible?

Hi apelec, thank you for the suggestion. This feature is (sort of) already provided for tasks. You can check a "Repeat" box on the "Start/Due" tab of the task. When the task is completed, another instance of the task will be automatically created and added to the calendar, using all the same data and links as the original. Note, I found a bug where linked items don't get updated to reference the newly created instance of the task (in other words, the link is only 1-way). This will be fixed in the next release.

You could also do this manually by copying the event or task, clicking a different date, and then pasting.

I would also like a more robust completion module for both tasks and events. Especially when I finish a task, I want to know how the task was completed. When the task is completed, both the original task and event is marked completed, but associated with that would be a note about how and when the task was completed.

I am sure I brought this up a few years ago. How you complete something is as important as the original task or event.

Hi GreatLakes, thanks for the feedback. The Details pane already shows the date and time when a task was completed.

Unfortunately, VueMinder doesn't have a concept of "how" a task was completed - just that a task was completed by the user. If you need to record additional information about how a task was completed, you could add some notes to the task. If you're using the Ultimate version, you could also define custom fields (via the Tools menu) to use for recording this data.
