I think the problem is the link doesn't start with "http://". When adding a web link, you'll need to use this prefix. I'll see if I can improve this so it will automatically prefix the link with "http://" if that part is missing. Also note, if the link is to a secure site, the prefix would need to be "https://".

In the meantime, to fix the link, click on the link in the description editor, click the "Insert Hyperlink" button, and then put "http://" in front of the URL address. I hope that fixes it for you.

Oops. Sorry. Probably should have added the "http://" originally, but of course, it worked from the editor, so I'm a little confused as to why it worked there. It works now. Thanks.

Hi Dan,
I discovered there were hyperlinks in the the AVA data I've been using. Don't know what happened to them the first time I did this, but I've now got a spreadsheet that preserves the links to the detail info for each event. I wouldn't have to create links in Calendar if I could import them. However, when I import the spreadsheet into Calendar I lose the hyperlinks. I have just the text (View). Is there anyway to import the data keep the hyperlinks? Thanks.

Currently, this is not possible because VueMinder parses the text from Excel as plain text. However, this is something I'm planning to improve. It won't be in 7.0.0, but I'll work on getting this into the next minor release. Thanks for the suggestion.

Oh well, thanks. Even if the links didn't actually work if it could preserve the text of the url that would help, but all I get is the tag (don't know if that's the right word) for the link.

Good news! The ability to import hyperlinks from Excel has been added for version 7.0.0. Any link found in the Description column will be imported as a link in the event description, and should be clickable from the Details pane without needing to do anything else.

This version will be officially released on April 9. A release-candidate beta containing this improvement is currently available for download. If you'd like an early look, please send a request to support@vuesoftsite.com.
