Why are events locked?

I've never locked events but now I'm finding events in my calendars that are locked. Every new event I've added since updating to 2017.00 this morning is locked. But I've also found a few events that I entered yesterday before the update that are also locked. Is there a way to turn off auto-locking or might this be a bug? I'm sharing between my three computers and two phones using Google Calendar. I'm only using what I would call regular events, not meeting invites with attendees. Also, when I open a locked event, the Reminder tab shows by default instead of the Description tab.

Hi Eric, this problem will be fixed in the next release (2017.01). It should be available very soon.

Version 2017.01 has been released. Note, after updating you might need to remove and re-add your synced calendars. To remove a calendar, right-click its name in the calendar list and select "Delete Calendar". To re-add a calendar, click "File -> Add Calendar -> Add Google Calendar".
