Error when using the & sign

Postby ipbr21054 » Fri Nov 27, 2009 9:35 am

I have noticed a few times now that when i use the & symbol there is a possible erro/bug.
The event title the & symbol correctly and when double clicking on the event up pop the events box and the text that i have written also shows correctly.
BUT
If you look in the details pane it reads &

Having added a few events with the & symbol in the title this problem occurs in each text shown on the details pane.

Thanks for letting me know about the problem. I was able to replicate the behavior you describe, but only with the event description and not its title. In other words, I can get the "&" text to appear in the details pane, but it's below the event time and other information, not the underlined link at the top of the details pane (which is the event title). Are you seeing this problem with the event title, or did you mean event description?

In case you're curious, "&" is the HTML code for the & character. There was a bug in the conversion logic from HTML to plain text, where the & character was not being properly processed. I've fixed this for the next release. In the meantime, you can work around the problem by entering event descriptions on the "Plain Text" tab of the description editor, rather than the "Formatted Text" tab, if you'll be using the & character.

Thank you for letting me know about the problem.

The & is shown in the description window and in the details pane.
If you use the & sign in the event title it is shown correctly.

This should be corrected in version 6.0.0, which was just released.
